Animal Rights Activists Disrupt Start Of Iconic Race

WEB Corach Rambler's Grand National Victory Overshadowed by Protests

Animal Rights Activists Disrupt Start of Iconic Race

WEB Corach Rambler emerged victorious in the 2023 Grand National at Aintree, but the start of the race was marred by a protest by animal rights activists.

The demonstrators gained access to the track and stood in the path of the horses, causing a delay in the start. Derek Fox, who was riding Corach Rambler, was forced to pass a late fitness test after falling during the protest.

Despite the disruption, Corach Rambler charged to a magnificent victory, giving trainer Lucinda Russell her first Grand National triumph. Fox, who was winning his second Grand National, praised the horse's determination.

The animal rights protesters were removed from the track, and the race was able to proceed without further incident. However, the incident raised concerns about the safety of both the horses and the riders.
