Province Hit by African Swine Fever Outbreak
Board Resolution Passed to Address Crisis
The Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Bataan has declared a state of calamity in the province due to an outbreak of African Swine Fever (ASF).
Governor Joet S. Garcia announced the declaration on Thursday, July 13, 2023, after the provincial board passed a resolution placing Bataan under a state of calamity.
The declaration allows the province to mobilize additional resources and implement measures to control the spread of ASF and mitigate its impact on the local economy.
The ASF outbreak has caused significant losses to the hog industry in Bataan, threatening the livelihood of many farmers in the province.
