Conservative Drop Further in Latest BBC Poll

Scottish Secretary Admits to Election Betting

The Conservative Party has dropped further in the latest BBC poll tracker, according to senior political analyst Peter Barnes. The poll, which was conducted by YouGov, found that the Conservatives are now trailing the Labour Party by 10 points, down from a 5-point deficit in the previous poll.

The poll also found that the Liberal Democrats have made gains, while the Scottish National Party (SNP) has lost ground.

The poll comes as Scottish Secretary Alister Jack admitted to placing three bets on the date of the next general election. Jack said that he had no knowledge of the date of the election when he placed the bets, but the revelation has raised questions about his judgment.

The general election is scheduled to be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024. The latest polls suggest that the Labour Party is set to return to power after more than a decade in opposition.
