Indiana Fever Come Back to Defeat Mercury

Mitchell Leads Second Half Charge

Indiana Fever 88, Phoenix Mercury 82

The Indiana Fever rallied from a halftime deficit to defeat the Phoenix Mercury 88-82 on Tuesday night. Kelsey Mitchell led the way for the Fever with 16 points in the second half, including eight in the fourth quarter.

The Mercury jumped out to an early 8-0 lead and led by as many as 11 points in the first half. But the Fever chipped away at the lead, and eventually took the lead for good with a 17-0 run in the third quarter.

Mitchell was a key part of the Fever's run, scoring eight points during the stretch. She finished the game with 22 points, five rebounds, and four assists.

The Mercury were led by Brittney Griner, who had 20 points and 10 rebounds. But Griner was held to just two points in the second half as the Fever defense clamped down.

The win is the Fever's third in a row, and it moves them to 11-11 on the season. The Mercury, meanwhile, fall to 12-10.
